Strategic Planning

Strategy, narrowly defined, means “the art of the general“ and seeks to determine the ends (vision, goals) for which the organization is striving, and the means (products, services, policies) by which it will get there. A strategy is sometimes called a roadmap—which is the path chosen to achieve the vision. Our clients retain us to: (a) facilitate the strategic planning process in collaboration with them, (b) evaluate the current situation and how it came about (markets, customers, competition, technology, economy, regulatory environment, etc.), (c) define goals and/or objectives (sometimes called ideal state), and (d) identify and map the possible routes (strategies) to achieve the goals/objectives. The strategic plan often has a medium/long term horizon (3-5 years).
