Business Efficiency

Financial Analyses & Feasibility Studies – Feasibility studies aim to objectively and rationally uncover the strengths and weaknesses of an existing business or proposed venture, opportunities and threats as presented by the environment, the resources required to carry through, and ultimately the prospects for success. In its simplest terms, the two criteria to judge feasibility are cost required and value to be attained. Our clients retain us to: (a) examine the historical background of their business or project, (b) describe the product or service, and (c) evaluate the financial data, operations and management details, etc., and (d) assess feasibility.

Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) – A business process is a set of logically related tasks performed to achieve a defined business outcome. BPR (also known as business process redesign and business transformation) focuses on the analysis and design of business processes within an organization. Our clients retain us to help them fundamentally rethink how they do their work in order to dramatically improve customer service, cut operational costs, and improve quality. We accomplish this by: (a) identifying and documenting current processes, (b) assessing and evaluating current (as is) processes, (c) developing and documenting new and/or enhanced (to be) processes, and (d) developing a plan for transitioning from the current state to the future state

Operational Reviews – Operational reviews involve an assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization, or part there of (e.g., branch, department, team). Our clients retain us to: (a) evaluate the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, and (b) develop and implement a portfolio of improvements. These improvements are generally focused on strategy, business processes, finance, people (HR, structure, etc.), technology, policy, and infrastructure enablers.

Customer / Stakeholder Segmentation & Analysis – Customer segmentation is the practice of dividing a customer base into groups that are similar in specific ways relevant to marketing and customer service, such as age, gender, purchasing habits , purchasing size, revenue they generate , costs of establishing and maintaining relationships with them, etc. Customer segmentation allows an organization to target specific groups of customers effectively and allocate resources to best effect. Our clients usually retain us to undertake this work in conjunction with other related projects such as rate development, but we occasionally undertake this work on a stand alone basis.

Customer / Stakeholder Needs Assessment & Surveys – In order to successfully serve customers, organizations must have an acute understanding of customers’ needs. Through primary and/or secondary research, CORVUS uncovers the precise needs of customers, how these needs are currently being fulfilled, and what is required to better satisfy these customers. Our clients retain us to: (a) define exactly which customers the organization is serving, (b) determine the demographic profiles of and assess the needs of these customers, and (c) assess the feasibility of an idea, modify it as needed, and create action plans to ensure success. Our clients usually retain us to undertake this work in conjunction with other related projects such as operational reviews, but we occasionally undertake this work on a stand alone basis.

Leading Practices Definition – A leading practice (also known as a best practice or a smart practice) is a method or technique that has consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means, and that is used as a benchmark. Leading practices are used to maintain quality as an alternative to mandatory legislated standards and can be based on self-assessment or benchmarking. Our clients retain us because CORVUS has a unique ability to apply leading practices to organizations in a manner that balances the unique qualities of the organization with the practices that it has in common with others. Our clients usually retain us to undertake this work in conjunction with other related projects such as BPR, but we occasionally undertake this work on a stand alone basis
